Civilian Conservation Corps
One-liner: A program created by FDR to conserve our natural resources and employ young men during the Great Depression.

Ø Was created as a public work relief program from the New Deal for unemployed men age 18-24.
Ø FDR created this program during the Great Depression, from 1933-1942.
Ø This was an effort by FDR to save the lives of many, and to save our environment.
Ø CCC was renewed the nation's decimated forests by planting about three billion trees from 1933 to 1942.
Ø The CCC worked on improving millions of acres of federal and state lands, as well as parks.
Ø The CCC is recognized as the single greatest conservation program in America.
Ø It had two main purposes: conservation of our natural resources and the salvage of our young men. It was able to accomplish both tasks.
